Adam has made a really great family website for us so after this week I will be cancelling my blog (its not like I was posting on here that much anymore anyway!) Our new website is www.alewishome.com and I am going to do my best to keep it updated with all the happenings in our family, especially now that we are expecting the twins!! Thanks to the 2 or 3 people who actually checked and read my blog here at hope of grace and I hope you will continue to follow our family over at the new website!
The greatest terrorist
Please watch the video I posted here. The Department of Homeland security how stated that it now considers the greatest terrorist threat to our country to be the “right wing extremist”. Who is a right wing extremist? Well, if you are a pro-life believer than you are. If you are pro-gun than you too are a terrorist. And yes, you, the soldier coming back from the Iraqi war who just might think that what you were fighting for was worth it, are now a terrorist threat to the USA. Who knew that someone who so many consider a hero is now considered on the of the greatest terrorist threats to our great nation. When did it become “American” to only share the views of the current government and become “un-American” or “Terrorist” to have a conservative or different view. So what comes next for the down home, small town American who believes that a babies life is of great importance or who wants to have the freedom to own a gun to hunt. Or the big city American who wants to own a gun to feel safe? Do they drag us out of our homes and place us into a special prison for terrorist? It makes me sick to my stomach to think of what the next 4 years could hold for the conservative American…or should I say the greatest terrorist against the USA!

What a wreck!
Yesterday I was awaken by the scariest voicemail I have ever received. “It’s me. I’ve been in a wreck. I’m fine. The cars not” Of course being half asleep all I heard was “I’ve been in a wreck” I hung up the phone to call Adam back in a panic to find out what had happened. He was driving from the Vergennes Jr High and headed back towards Elkville when less than a mile from the Jr High he hit a patch of black ice. From what he remembers he started to slide to the side and he turned the wheel into it with no luck. By the time he tried to correct it, it was to late. His car was turned the opposite direction from which he was going and headed for the deep ditch. When he hit, his car toppled onto the drivers side deploying the airbags and sending everything inside the car flying! After that he remembers seeing that the car was smoking and then quickly turning it off and getting out. He had to crawl up and out the passengers side. Adam said he couldnt have been going much over 25 or 30 mph. If he had been going much fast the pathfinder would most likely have continued to role over a number of times, ending very badly considering Adam had not put his seat belt on yet. Adam is fine other than a small airbag burn on his right wrist and the sore everything that comes with the jarring and tension! Praise Jesus that that is all he suffered. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about how differently things could have turned out. Thank you Jesus for guarding my husband! Thank for not taking him home just yet! How blessed I am that you have given him to me as a lover and friend!

The insurance adjuster said he is pretty sure that the pathfinder is a total loss. When vehicles turn onto their sides there is a lot of engine damage that would cost much more to fix than what the vehicle is worth. So it looks like we will be buying a new vehicle a few years sooner than we planned! We are praying that the pathfinder is worth a least a little something so that we will have a decent/little down payment for a new vehicle.

This is my adorable grandpa and grandma Burroughs. They are my mom’s parents. This picture was taken at my parents house last year during Christmas (obviously the santa hat and decorations kind of gives that away). I love my grandparents very much. I wouldnt be where I am without them! My grandpa turned 89 this year. He still drives his tractor all around the fields dragging up dead trees and anything else that doesnt belong in the pasture. Him and my uncle Walter, who is 92, still talk every night on the phone at 9:00 on the dot and spend a lot of their free time fixing their gardens and doing lots of things that most people their age couldnt dream of doing! My grandma will be 85 this year. She isnt able to get around as good as she used to but her mind or her faith havent slowed down a bit. Both her and my grandpa are God fearing people and have done their best to instill that into my sisters and I since we were little. She was recently told by her Dr. that they spotted a new mass in her colon. Since she has a history of colon cancer they suspected that it was a new onset malignant tumor. They did blood work which also came back suspicious so her Dr. told her to have a PET scan done to check for more cancer cells. When she went for her PET scan a few days agao everything was gone! No tumors, no abnormal cells, no abnormal blood work…just perfect healthy things! Her Dr. said he could not explain what happened or where the tumor went. She told him that God can do anything and that she had a lot of people praying for her. Her Dr. is not a believing man but maybe by Gods great blessing on her he will have a little glimpse of our all powerful, gracious, and loving Lord! I know thats more than a picture description but I just love my grandparents so much and wanted to share a bit about them as well!!
Now I tag Shelly, Chelsea, Alisha, and Shannon!!
Update on Me!
Its been a while since I’ve posted the happenings of my life so I thought I’d give some updates on a few things.
Update #1: My new furniture came in a little over a week ago and I LOVE it! Its even nicer and prettier than I thought. Now just about everything in my house matches except for the large, ugly rug in the dining room area. But, since large rugs cost large amounts of money, I’ll just have to deal with it for now. Here are a few pictures to show you. It looks better in person so you will all need to stop by and see it.
Update #2: My periodontist appointment didnt give me many answers. They told me that my teeth are farther up into my sinuses than most people so the pain and inflammation may be related to that, but they can not be sure. They took some more x-rays and told me that they saw something in my sinuses but could not be sure if it was another tumor forming or if I was just congested. They want me to see another specialist to find out for sure. Since I feel that I already have more specialist than anyone my age should have, and since I did have the beginning of a cold coming on, I decided to postpone another doctors appointment and am just praying that its not a new tumor. On the plus side though, they did tell me that the bone loss is not as bad as previously thought so I will not have to have my teeth removed just yet as long as I keep taking good care of them.
Update #3: I’ve been really bad at working out! I’m trying to get motivated and lose 10lbs by Thanksgiving. That may be a bit of a lofty goal but I’m going to give it a go. So, starting today (Monday Oct 27) I am going to walk 2 miles (or more) and do at least a 20 minute pilates video every day. It should take me an hour or less each day so I really don’t have any excuse to not do it. If it is raining than I plan on doing the hour long pilates video that I have. I will need everyones help to keep on it. So please, if you have facebook or email, keep on me and make sure that I have done my daily workout. I am known as being a bit of a slacker and procrastinator so you have my permission to be as blunt and pushy as need be to make sure that I am still going strong
Update #4: Adam and I hit a set back on the whole baby front and have had to postpone treatments for a few months. I don’t really want to discuss the set back at this point but please continue to pray for us. Due to the situation though Dr. Ratts has decided to wait until December or January to start any for of treatment. I know she knows whats best for my body but its still frustrating. It just seems like everytime I get ready to begin treatments something happens and we are set back another few months. On the plus side of the situation (yes, I said plus side! I am a little more optimistic these days) whatever happens will not interfer with school. I graduate in May and should take my boards no later than July so if we are blessed with success soon than it wont be a problem. On the down side (I can’t help but have a little pessimissm still) I’ve not had any treatments since May and my body is starting to fight against me. I was almost regular with my cycles lasting between 30-33 days, but the last few months they have went from 33 days being the longest to 43 being my new high and they are just growing in the length between. The longer I go between cycles the worse that means my hormones are reacting and the longer its going to take to get back to point A. Which is another reason I want to lose 10lbs by Thanksgiving. Im hoping that if I am at my optimal weight and in good shape physically that my body will thank me for it and I will have an easier time getting going again.
Thanks for all of your prayers and for the motivation that I know you are all going to give me the next month! Now I need to hit the road and begin day one of my workout plan!!
Happy 26th Birthday
Happy Birthday to the most amazing husband! I tried to think of something sweet and sappy to write but Im not the best at putting my sappy thoughts into words. Im better at giving hugs and being sappy in person. I just want to tell you that I love you more today than the day I met you. I can not wait until we have a little one that looks just like you that will jump on the bed and scream “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!”. But until then, I’ll be sure and have Piper help me in that…oh course he most likely will be attacking you but thats his way of showing you love. HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY DAY! I LOVE YOU!!!!
